This was one of my favorite shoots to date in NYC. I have always been drawn to New York, and I can see myself being based there as a wedding photographer new york.
I traveled to Brooklyn at the start of 2020 when COVID-19 was just beginning to become serious. I remember coming to hang out at Kayvan and Kristin’s apartment for a while and Kayvan jokingly (but also seriously) mentioning that they were stocking up on Ramen and cans of food. We had no idea what 2020 would have in store for us!
Besides the hovering pandemic, this weekend was a dream. We got to shoot in so many locations around the city (check out my other blog post from this weekend- they got a super fancy hotel room in the city for the night and we got some amazing indoor shots). This rooftop is the top of their apartment building (how amazing?!) and the rest of the locations we just walked around the city to find! Kristin told me she was really drawn toward editorial wedding photography so we made those dreams come true- and I could not be happier with the results!
We were so lucky with an absolutely amazing sunset- the colors were perfect. Some of my favorite memories from this weekend: getting to know Kayvan and Kristin (they are the most rad couple), getting to eat at yummy restaurants, crying on the bus home from this rooftop shoot because it was so beautiful, and getting to see a concert at Radio City Music Hall! Kayvan works for Genius so he was able to get us into a concert for free and it was an experience I won’t soon forget!
Can’t wait til next time, New York.
